How to Apply Cluster Lashes? Step By Step Guide

Read Time:4 Minute, 10 Second

The key to mastering a full, stunning, natural-looking lashline is to use cluster artificial lashes. To learn our top application suggestions, read this guide.

The ideal false lashes are clustered individual ones. Individual artificial eyelashes seem considerably more realistic but are laborious and time-consuming to apply. Full bands of false eyelashes can look unnatural and frequently need cutting to fit the eye correctly. Clustered fake eyelashes combine the simplicity of full bands with the versatility of individual lashes by letting you decide on the length and positioning while still applying several false eyelashes at once. Check out this guide from makeup artist Danielle Stewart if you want to learn how to apply cluster lashes flawlessly.

Take these actions:

Choose the length that will best achieve the desired look before you begin. The two shortest lash lengths in the variety set are used in this tutorial because we’re striving for a natural appearance. Longer lash clusters can be used for a more dramatic appearance; nevertheless, for a seamless appearance, use at least two lashes of different lengths. You can start applying after that.

What You Will Need

  • Curled eyelashes merely a little bit longer than your natural lashes. Typically, you will require a box of shorts and a box of mediums for the ends. (Unfortunately, for some reason, I can’t find my box of Mediums, so I’m performing the demonstration using Shorts, but you get the idea.) The best are in Ardell.
  • Tweezers (trying to put them on with your fingers will be awful)
  • Lash adhesive There are two types of them. Because these sometimes fall off at the end of the day, I’m using the regular ones that you would use to apply strip lashes. Consider using permanent glues once you are more experienced with the application (e.g. Ardell LashTite). Later, more on this.

How to Apply Cluster Lashes

  1. As usual, use mascara.
  2. Draw a small line of black eyeliner over your top lid (OPTIONAL). Skip the liner if you want a more natural look, but for a beginner, a line does a good job of hiding flaws.
  3. Make sure there is no glue remaining on your tweezers from a prior lash application by cleaning them. The lash you are putting won’t come off if you use tacky tweezers.
  4. Use the longer eyelashes on the outside and the shorter ones on the inside.
  5. The end of the lash should be dipped into the adhesive after applying a tiny amount to the lash tray. Permit to dry for 5 to 10 seconds.
  6. While applying lashes, look down into the mirror.
  7. Make sure to tuck the base of the new lashes into your lash line as firmly as you can before placing them on top of your existing lashes.
  8. To move and reposition the lashes as necessary, use tweezers.

The Tips on Permanent Glues

These seem like an excellent idea, especially if you want to wear your flares once and forget about them for the duration of a work week. The way that the permanent glues attach lash clusters to your natural lashes ensures that they will remain in place until the glue dries up or your natural lash sheds. Theoretically.

So it does function.

However, as it is subjected to everyday use and abuse from applying and removing makeup, curling your lashes, etc., the glue will start to deteriorate a little and some clusters may start to fall out earlier. Reapplying them can quickly remedy this. The problematic part is where the adhesive begins to weaken yet still adheres. Two outcomes are then possible:

  • Changing positions, tilting, and pointing in the wrong directions, the cluster. It’s difficult to add extra adhesive at this stage, so you’ll probably need to take it off and reapply.
  • The cluster is still bonded to your lash but is no longer adhered to your skin. It is difficult to remove, in that the glue remover frequently fails to entirely dissolve it. Numerous lashes had to be removed from the cluster they were linked to.

On the outside of the eye, I use three clusters, and inside, I use two or three singles.

Yes, just move them around with your finger or tweezers. When the glue has cured, the lashes usually stay in place.

Yes, I reuse my own. If you wish to reuse, gently peel your eyelashes off with your fingertips before washing your face. They came off pretty easily because you only used a small bit of glue.
